”Fundamental” is of, or pertaining to, getting drunk, shit-faced, wasted, or as the British say, “pissed.” It comes from the Day 143 entry of The Global Trip 2004 blog, “Reading is FUNdamental,” when I went to visit the Centre of The Book in Cape Town, South Africa, and ended up getting drunk later that night.  (The two activities weren’t related at all.) Blogreader Markyt commented, saying that “Drinking is FUNdamental,” and thus spawned the new use of the adjective.
